Banyu Kasongan Homestay

Clean bed, shared kitchen, genuine quiet in Kasongan

Four rooms, three cats, and the kind of quiet you can't find in any hotel. Fifteen minutes from Yogyakarta's tourist chaos — a world away.

Sometimes you need to step away from the noise. Here, morning sounds are roosters calling, evening brings the scent of wood-fired kilns and unhurried conversations. Think of it as your ‘terra-cotta’ retreat from life’s ‘molding’ pressures.

Our home is NOT for everyone. And that’s exactly what makes it right for some people: solo travelers, couples, digital nomads, writers, and monthly stay.

Please move on if you’re: groups, families, traveling with children, or pets.

What you'll find

The pause you needed

Forget Instagram-perfect homestays. This is where you come to breathe. No crowds pushing past, no traffic honking outside. Just the quiet rhythm of a village that’s been making pottery for generations.

What's actually here

You’re in Kasongan, where pottery happens. Not because we’re pushing cultural tourism, but because that’s simply what this place is. Artisans work from their homes, kilns burn in backyards, and the morning air carries the scent of clay and wood smoke.

Our location next to Tirto Cemetery means ultimate peace. No loud parties next door, no traffic noise, just the kind of quiet you can’t buy anywhere else in Yogyakarta. Plus, it’s the easiest landmark for drivers when they’re looking for us.

Where you'll sleep

We have 4 rooms available for rent, the hosts living on-site, and 3 furry guardians. View rooms & rates.

Location

Getting here

You’re in Tirto village, Bangunjiwo, next to the pottery workshops of Kasongan. Fifteen minutes from Yogyakarta’s tourist chaos, but you’ll feel like you’ve traveled back decades.

The kind of place where Grab drivers sometimes get lost, but that’s exactly why the quiet here is real.
